Become WorkSafe Registered

Other than for business purposes, property owners and landlords are advised to register for free to WorkSafe Support. We aim to ensure all properties in the UK are kept safe and maintained by trusted and qualified tradespeople.

Why WorkSafe Support

In the United Kingdom, it is estimated that there are approximately 700,000 small construction and building maintenance companies. Of this number, only one per cent of the companies have registered for any safety assurance scheme.

At WorkSafe, we provide all registered tradespeople with online safety training and regular safety newsletters.

We are setting up a network to enable building and maintenance tasks carried out in residential and commercial buildings to be kept maintained by trusted and qualified contractors.

At WorkSafe, we are helping to create better ways to build, maintain, and renovate. Our registered contractors have the requisite body of knowledge and training to meet the standards necessary to actualise better buildings in England.

By joining WorkSafe, we ensure that contractors deliver top quality work. These contractors are not just skilled but are equipped with requisite safety knowledge.

Our building inspectors prioritise major issues which could cause harm to tenants or the general public such as:

Tenants and landlord’s advice

If you have had work done at home and a problem has been caused by the contractor, you should be able to have it rectified, or at the very least have some of your money returned.

Whatever the problem may be, the first step is to talk to the contractor and come to an agreement

You should take up the problem with the contractor who arranged the work, even if they ‘sub-contracted’ (passed on) all or some of it to another business.

Before you do that, make sure to:

  • Gather any paperwork and all receipts
  • Take photos to use as evidence of the problem
  • Make notes about what has happened, including dates and times
